 The Bishop and the Crucifix
Between the two south windows in the chancel no wall paintings were found in 1804 although it seems highly likely that some painting would have covered this section of wall. To the left of the vicars door in the chancel is a painting of Christ nailed to the Cross being venerated by a Bishop. It is possible that the Bishop venerating the Cross is a depiction of the Bishop of Worcester, in whose diocese the Guild Chapel was located and whose shield of arms were displayed in the stained glass windows of the nave.
